Company profile
The company "JADRANSKI POMORSKI SERVIS" d.d. RIJEKA was found in
1956. as a compound of the Port of Rijeka, which organized
towing activities for the needs of port towage. In 1989., after
the reorganisation of the Port of Rijeka, the same company
transfers from a public ownership to a shareholding company
named JADRANSKI POMORSKI SERVIS d.d. RIJEKA, and is established
as an independent shareholding company.
In its rich history, for more than 50 years, tug boats of JPS d.d. Rijeka have been an important subject of safe navigation in the northern Adriatic area, and in that matter due to our devotion in salvage actions, in years 1996. and 2000. we have been awarded with the highest acknowledgment in seafaring, the "Blue lace" award.
With its 11 tug boats powered from 1.000 Kw to 2x1920 Kw, the Company owns concession contracts which are implemented in the port of Rijeka, on a crued oil terminal Omšalj, and in the port of Zadar
Parallely with activities of towage, salvage, firefighting protection of sea and coast and ecological protection of sea by prevention and collection of oil and waste liquids in tanks and spilled, our Company provides by its tanker the service of oil and oil products transport for local and foreign user.
Also, services of lifting heavy cargos are being performed with a 100 t pontoon crane for the needs of international port of Rijeka, and in actions of salvage and lifting sunk objects.
JADRANSKI POMORSKI SERVIS d.d. RIJEKA is a ship-owning company which is organized according to all the requirements of Croatian laws and regulations while the rules of Croatian register of shipping and international conventions are implemented in managing and maintaining the commercial, technical and personnel activities on board of the vessels. While thriving to raise the quality and safety levels for a long time, a Company has done the implementation of ISO 9002 standards at the classification company Bureau Veritas.
